'Like' or 'Share' to help feed donations to US rescue horses
Purina are donating at least $125,000 in free feed to US equine rescue groups through their A Home for Every Horse programme. Purina will donate an additional $1 in free feed when fans share through HelpFeedRescueHorses.com, or 'Like' or 'Share' campaign-related posts on Purina's Facebook page.

Improving surgical skills with artifical skin
Equine surgeons in the US have invented artifical skin which will allow veterinary students to improve their surgical skills. The SurgiReal body wall models have multiple layers and fake blood to give a more realistic experience of surgery than the bannana skins and cadavers which are frequently used.

Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) auction held
Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) held the first auction of ex-racehorses looking for new careers at Brightwells Auctioneers. 33 horses were for sale and the highest price was £1,100 for Barton Blount who will be evented by GB team member Jeanette Brakewell. Revupclover was sold to Rachel Roberts for £950 as a show horse.

Horse escaping Texas floods shot
Multiple calls were received by the Sheriff's Department in Liberty County, Texas reporting that a man was shooting at a horse which was standing on high ground after escaping from floods. The horse was found to have been shot in the head several times and is receiving veterinary care, together with a second horse.

Scott Brash wins 2nd leg of Rolex Grand Slam
In a thrilling jump-off Scott Brash, riding Hello Sanctos, won the Aachen Grand Prix. He is the first rider ever to win consecutive legs of the Rolex Grand Slam (having won in Geneva in 2014). To win the 1 million euro bonus he now needs to win the Spruce Meadows (Canada) Masters in September.
