Ellen Whitaker expecting first baby
One of Britain's top showjumpers, Ellen Whitaker, and her boyfriend Toni are expecting a baby in May, further extending the Whitaker dynasty. Ellen is the niece of top showjumpers John & Michael Whitaker (who have 13 nieces & nephews involved with horses). Ellen plans to be back in the saddle in the late summer.

Being cute is not enough in advertising
Marketing has shown that successful animal commercials need to create an emotional response - being cute just isn't enough. To have a real impact, ads need to make people happy (moonwalking Socks has had over 8 million YouTube views) or tell a story (like the friendship between a Budweiser Cyldesdale and a puppy).

GB showjumpers second in Wellington, Florida Nations Cup
In their first Nations Cup of the 2014 season, team GB (Ben Maher, Tim Gredly, Gemma Paternoster, Scott Brash) was narrowly beaten by Canada. Faults for the leading teams after the first round were Canada 0, USA 4 and GB 5. Both Canada and GB had 4 faults in the second round, while USA had 8 faults to drop them to 3rd.
